paola + eric, july ’07

i am so excited to finally share photos of this wedding with you! i apologize for the mini blog-drought this week, and i humbly offer this fun photo-filled post to make up for it. 🙂

working with paola was a thrill for me. her first email to me painted a picture of a wedding brimming with original details, and a day that harkened back to the nostalgia and romance of the 1950’s. once i met paola, i knew we would get along perfectly. she and i share an intense love for “the little things”, as well as manic organization! it is no wonder that this beautiful bride is now entering the wedding business herself! if you are lucky, you may find out she is your venue coordinator at one of the hippest hotels in l.a. 😉

the entire evening enchanted me. i know that sounds silly, but it really did. while guests were dancing and enjoying themselves, i was walking around and soaking the scene in. a sweet young couple came up to me and told me it was one of the most beautiful weddings they’d ever seen. i felt the same way. the florals, linens, décor and lighting came together to create a lush, romantic, and fresh tableau.  paola’s vision had come alive.

enjoy these fabulous photos, radiant with joy and life, courtesy of evoke photography. i was ecstatic when i saw these pictures because of how perfectly they captured the scene that had enchanted me back in july.

the awe-inspiring cathedral of our lady of the angels

pure joy. love this one.

the bride was just dazzling in her reem acra gown.

delighted guests plucked their beaded escort cards from these sparkling “trees”, planted in dupioni silk-covered boxes.

the ultra-luxe head table, just dripping with florals…

my very favorite of the set.

as a tribute to their love of all things vintage, i tucked a bag of goodies into their car before their sparkler getaway. included were red velvet cupcakes from dots cupcakes, and an assortment of my own favorite vintage sodas from galco’s soda pop stop. if you are in the LA area, you *must* check out this haven of all things carbonated. yum!

paola + eric: beyond the breathtaking beauty of your wedding day, your love was something that inspired wonder. it was as if you were both illuminated the entire day from within, just filled with unspeakable bliss and excitement. i can’t tell you how moving that was for me to watch!! it was truly an honor and sheer joy for me to work with you on your day. thank you for everything; keep in touch! paola — i will see you soon, lady! xoxo
