tracy & hank – 9.8.07

tracy and i were totally meant to be from step 1. our initial meeting over coffee was a complete success and within moments of meeting each other, laughter and easy conversation ensued. i knew we were a great match when she told me about her love of the smashing pumpkins, one of my fave bands of all time. 😉 everything just went from there.

tracy and hank are also completely meant to be. the way they interact with each other is so sweet and i was deeply moved while witnessing their “first look” before the ceremony. everything about their day dripped with beauty and i was sad to see it come to an end!

the ceremony and reception both took place at the opulent trump national golf club in palos verdes. i loooove working at this site; it is definitely one of my very favorites. the great staff (including darling catering manager richelle), sweeping panoramic views, and elegantly-appointed ballroom make it a top pick amongst discerning brides. the food is also deeeelish!

enjoy this peek at the day through the lens of the fabulous brothers lippke.

ira in action!

i was completely giddy to work with THE ira lippke on this wedding, being a huge fan of his timeless work. he and his brother samuel made the evening fly by; they are so fun to be around. to quote ira, “the brothers lippke + the sisters swanson = blissful happiness.” haha they also are tremendously talented, as you will see below. 😉

the darling couple, taking some portraits on the sun-lit portico. her ulla maija dress was stunning in its simplicity.

the aisle for the ceremony was lined with shepherds’ hooks featuring these gorgeous crystal baskets filled with roses and tulilps. i love the watery shape of the bride + her bridesmaids in the background.

the bride’s lush red bouquet was personalized with two brass lockets holding photos of her + the groom’s late fathers. it was a special way to keep them close during the day.

this is a lovely view of trump’s ceremony site. a red carpet of petals marked the aisle.

sealed with a kiss! the ceremony arch was just packed with rich burgundy and red florals, including roses, dahlias, tulilps, hanging amaranthus, and hydrangea.

i love this shot captured after the couple’s recessional as husband and wife!

into the ballroom! the stately ballroom at trump was illuminated with regal red uplighting. it made a dramatic impact on the room, and perfectly coordinated with the classic centerpieces.

the centerpieces were textural and mostly monochromatic, with accents of lime green cymbidium orchids for interest.

i absolutely love this photo. the curve of the hill, and the contrast of the ground + sky, with the silhouette of the couple… everything is perfect.

i love the movement and joy in this shot, too.

the ballroom, in all its red splendor!

a sweet moment during the maid of honor’s toast

the classic white cake was highlighted on a table with tons of votives and a heavy scattering of petals.

i *have* to end with this stunning photo of tracy at the end of the night, changed into her sleek + golden monique lhuillier dress. i think the photo perfectly captures the luxe and glamorous feel of the entire evening.

tracy & hank: you two share a beautiful bond that i was blessed to witness. i’m looking forward to getting together soon! xoxo
