hello everyone! i hope you are all having a wonderful week. the summer-like weather has been absolutely splendid for my mood. 😉 my cheerful outlook might also have to do with the fabulous weddings that are underway this season. i can’t WAIT to share pics from this saturday’s fête, which is sure to be absolutely gorgeous.
easter sunday is a busy family day for us, but we always start out with church to remind ourselves of the true meaning of the day. it’s easy to get lost in the food and festivities and overlook the glorious, joyful purpose: to celebrate Christ’s resurrection! we left service encouraged, as always. He is risen!!
after church, we joined mom, her fiancé, and my sister for brunch at the inn of the seventh ray. i had heard wonderful things about this woodland retreat from my mother, who enjoyed brunch there recently. every easter, the restaurant holds a popular brunch with a varied display of raw foods, pastas, salads, seafood, and desserts! the inn of the seventh ray is known for its use of organic, local produce and only the freshest ingredients. many of their options at the buffet were vegan or vegetarian. the restaurant also has a bit of a hippie vibe, with its new age store. they also “charge” their food with “the vibration of the violet flame.” kinda quirky.
quirky hippie tendencies aside, everything was quite delicious. my favorite items were the crab quiche, grilled asparagus, endive salad with mandarin segments, and corn salad. i also loved my glass of fresh-squeezed blood orange juice. mmm!
