saturday i coordinated this fabulous wedding at the intercontinental hotel in century city. maya and haseeb are two of the sweetest people i’ve EVER met, and it was nothing but a pleasure working with them in planning the big day. i was able to get to know maya’s family very well, too (since she was planning long distance from chicago!), so i feel like an adopted member of the family. 😉 i can’t wait to share some photos from the day with you, courtesy of the lovely & talented marisa holmes. it was SO great to meet her finally, after admiring her work for so long. she did an incredible job of capturing the spirit and beauty of the day.
without further ado… here is a look at some of the gorgeous shots marisa created:
isn’t maya’s lengha incredible? all of her jewelry and accessories were carefully selected and PERFECTLY matched to her bridal outfit.
maya was drop-dead gorgeous on her wedding day. couture bridal service took care of hair, makeup, and draping of her lengha.
picture perfect!! maya carried a luscious bouquet of all-white peonies. at the peak of their season right now, peonies are an utter delight and one of many things maya & i both love!
haseeb looked quite dashing himself! he said his shoes were horribly uncomfortable, though. ouchhh
the programs (on the left) were enclosed in gold paper with just a hint of shimmer. i used a custom monogram rubber stamp to make a chic cover. on the right, the glorious mandap! eddie of commerce flowers did a wonderful job of creating this lush setting. the mandap was simply dripping with burgundy roses and dahlias, accented with bursts of fuschia gloriosa lillies.
maya’s younger brother escorted her down the aisle
during the ceremony, the couple sat beneath the mandap with both sets of parents. i LOVED both of their families; they are truly blessed.
married!! i love these portraits and the rich burgundy tones in their outfits and flowers.
a closer look at the mandap flowers!
i adore this quirky pic. 😉 maya was working those stuart weiztman stilettos!!
these two formal portraits are some of my faves from the day. the b&w one is especially poignant; i love how marisa processed it to give it such a romantic, ethereal feel.
tooo cute! the lovebirds are pictured lounging on the fab furniture outside the hotel’s lobby
some beautiful details! on the left: their sweetheart table was set in a beautifully draped cabana. a vignette of furniture sat in front of them so guests could come up, snap photos, and chat with the newlyweds. i adored their custom gobo projection, with that fab monogram again! on the right: tall centerpieces utilized more of the bold burgundy florals from the reception. we used soft gold linens and amber votives to keep things warm and inviting.
i swooned over this cake by sarah from for the love of sugar. the tasty red velvet confection was encased in smooth pink fondant, highlighted with orange pearls and fondant ribbons along the base of each edge. darling!
i have to end with this sweet shot marisa snapped of me & maya. it’s the end of the night and i look a bit wilted next to the stunning bride, but i loooove this pic for many reasons. first, it captures me in my custom-made silk sari! it was a gift from the bride and i was overwhelmed with delight to wear it. i seriously wish i could wear 6 yards of silk everyday! 😉 i have never felt so elegant! it featured a burgundy choli (blouse) and a mango/orange sari. one of maya’s sweet aunts dressed me so everything would drape beautifully. second, i am pictured alongside a dear, dear client-turned friend. i can’t express how much i love this girl!
maya + haseeb: thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day! you blessed me with your kindness and grace. maya — you were amazing to work with each and every step of the way. seriously, you have been nothing but kind, enthusiastic, and encouraging! i was so delighted with how we hit it off and treasure the friendship we built all of these months together. i know i have made a life-long friend in you. everything turned out beautifully and i wish you both all the best! xoxo, angel
