escape to {elude} & win $100 gift card!

Hello everyone!!  I hope your week is going well!  Last week was the exciting launch of my sister-in-law’s new med spa in Pasadena: {elude}.  It was great seeing some of you at the launch, but I know many of you were unable to join us.  I thought I’d give you all a peek at the sleek and modern interior of the space!

Megan (my sister-in-law) envisioned a crisp, mostly-white interior with pops of bright color and lots of fun and graphic décor.  I watched her spend hours upon hours planning, shopping for the perfect pieces and putting in the elbow grease to put everything together (literally — there was some assembly involved!).  The result was FABULOUS.  The one thing I kept hearing over and over at the launch party was, “Ohmygosh this place is soooooo cute!”  And it is.  🙂  Meg — you did an incredible job and {elude} is a truly a beautiful destination.

Here are some non-pro pics!

This first photo was snapped by Meg herself!  This is the waiting area and main lobby downstairs.  Lots of natural light!

Tchotchke central!  I love all the quirky and playful pieces Meg brought in for décor.

Reception area.  My sunglasses are not part of the usual décor.  🙂

This is the nurses’ lounge upstairs where they have their files, a work station, etc.  There are two private treatment rooms upstairs as well.

Window seats ❤

Erik and I put up most of the decals the night before the launch.  It was a very slow and painstaking progress but they were worth it!  The birch poles in the main lobby really define the room.

I went in for my first treatments at {elude} yesterday and honestly could not have had a better experience.  🙂  Although of course I am supportive of my sister-in-law’s endeavors in a general sense, I would never share something with my blog readers that I didn’t personally believe in.  If my experience had been anything less than amazing, trust that I would have simply thanked my sis-in-law and never mentioned a word on my blog.  LOL In addition, I want to note that my treatments were carried out by registered nurses (not my sister-in-law), as are all the treatments at {elude}. They have two staff RNs and an MD who operate all of the lasers and administer things like Botox, Juvéderm, etc.  Now that I’ve had the personal experience of being a client at {elude}, I can confidently rave about their services.  Everything was seamless, simple, and most importantly… painless!!  I even took 10 joules (level of energy on the laser) on my legs and experienced not a pinch of pain.  I promise I’m not some crazy robotron with an unnatural pain tolerance, either.  😉  If you’re curious about laser hair removal, photofacials, or any other medical aesthetic procedure, you need to check out {elude}!

Your first laser hair removal session is always 100% free at {elude} (up to $300 value!) so I highly encourage you all to give them a ring and set up an appointment! I also wanted to give out a few prizes on my blog as a little contest!  I have 3 $100 gift cards to pass on to 3 lucky readers. Remember that your first treatment at {elude} is totally free (no strings attached, no further treatments required… seriously free!) so your $100 g.c. can be used toward the purchase of additional treatments or products (e.g. Latisse).

I will also throw in a fabulous find (a surprise!) bonus in each package I send out to the winners.  🙂  Good luck!!

    • i’m not surprised at all by your response, becky! you are the ultimate walker!! xo

  2. ohhh my! what a treat it would be to win this!

i love to get away from all the chaos at home, work, & school by hopping into bed, pulling the covers over my head & reading old childhood books & journal entries from when i was a boy-crazy teenager! haha as far as my journals go… not much has changed. i’m just a boy-crazy 22 year old… but crazy for only one boy =)

    • hey kristin! thanks for stopping by! 🙂 i loooove reading my old journals, too! it definitely makes me cringe from time to time, though. LOL

  3. hi angel 🙂 a little scared of the idea of lasers but if you say it’s painless… then i’m definitely curious! 🙂

how i usually escape… cooking & enjoying a good meal is one great way 🙂 cooking at home takes a lot of concentration (don’t want to cut or chop or burn anything!) and going out always promises a fun ambiance and lots of new tastes…..

    • hey dear! cooking is one of my favorite ways to escape, too! 🙂

  4. I like to escape by making the best of all of my work holidays by adding a day or two for a mini vacation!

    • You are the queen of vacays, in my opinion! 🙂 I love living vicariously through your posts!

  5. Your SIL’s new shop is adorable! Best of luck on her new endeavor. I am definitely going to pop-in in the near future.

    • Thank you, Linda! Definitely stop in next time you’re in Pasadena!! 🙂

  6. Hi Angel! Hope you’re doing well! My favorite means of escape is to hike deep into the woods and go rock climbing up a 100-ft cliff. The natural beauty, adrenaline, commitment, and conquering provide for a great catharsis.

    PS – Love your blog!

    • thanks sweetie! 🙂 thank you for swinging by the blog! i love hiking but have never been rock climbing — sounds amazing. xo

  7. Awwww!! Thanks for your rave and *honest* review! I’m sooooo happy that you had such a great experience!!!

Btw- don’t for a second think that this fab place would have been possible without you! You and Erik slaved away, spent late nights setting up with me, and lets not forget the chic launch party!

    ❤ you soooo much!

    • Love you too Meg! We are beyond proud of you xo 🙂

  8. my best escape is definitely always nature – but sometimes that’s not possible in this urban oasis of stress. second best option is a bottle of wine and staying away from the computer screen for a few hours!

I can’t wait to head to Elude – already scheduled my first appointment!

    • so excited you are checking out Elude!! 🙂 nature is always an amazing escape~ tahoe is my favorite “semi-local” destination escape…

  9. Hey angel!

this gift card would be for Susan….but I like to escape the busyness of ministry and seminary by going to the cliffs in pv and sitting there listening to some Yiruma and the like. Yes I know it’s emo…but thats me i guess.

  10. Well, I thought I’d give it a try…
My favorite way to get away from it all is simply to go on a walk. I love walking alone and having the time to think. My other easy place to get away is going outside to sit on our porch swing with a glass of iced coffee and a book. (Not to fancy, but they are always available when I need a moment)

    • sounds positively lovely!! hope you’re well 🙂

  11. Sneaking outside for a cup of coffee in the wee hours of the morning before the family awakes is just the right treat to renew myself. Being completely alone from the human world and eavesdropping on the 1st stirrings of nature is a sweet escape!

    • i’m not a genuine morning person but i do love when i’m up and the world is still sleeping 🙂

  12. I love to flip through old childhood pictures of me and my husband (with a big box of hot tamales) for a sugary afternoon of uncontrollable belly laughing.

  13. This gift card would be for my cousin Amy who lives more locally to the area, because I don’t live there, but I love escaping by going to the beach. Love the sound and feel of waves crashing, wind in my hair, sand in my feet.

    • the beach is one of my favorite escapes, too!

  14. Oh boy oh boy!!!! my fingers are crossed so tight!!! I have dreamed of the day when I would no longer have the burden of a female stache. HA!

I have a new way to escape. The treadmill listening to The Gossip. I had no idea I could fall in love with a hamster toy but it is awesome. A perfect way to finish my work day and get pumped for my wedding in 34 days!!! Ahhhh!!!

    • you kill me, k!! ❤ i read this out loud to anna while we were driving in solvang yesterday. love you!! xo

  15. I’ve been contemplating a laser treatment for some time now; how amazing would it be to have the procedure done at your SIL’s! :o)

My favorite local escape is the Hollywood Bowl; there’s nothing quite like experiencing a soul-stirring cello concerto under the stars with my hubby while a balmy summer breeze whispers in the distance. Sigh.

    xoxo!

    • sounds amazing — I LOVE the bowl and am so sad I haven’t been able to go this season. 😦

  16. I love escaping by laying out a blanket under a tree outside and journaling, or with a good book. It usually leads to a nice nap afterwards too. 🙂

Love your blog and your style Angel!

    • Hi Aileen! Thanks for your sweet words; I looove hanging outside with a good book. It reminds me of my undergrad days at Cal when I’d take naps on Memorial Glade between glasses. 🙂

  17. Ooh Ooh Ooh…This would definitely be an awesome gift!
The place were we like to escape to is Venice beach…I know it may sound cheasy, but my kids love that place and somehow we always find something new there. Its a place to get away, hear the ocean waves, enjoy great food and even take a ride along the trails especially Summer nights when the sun starts setting…Love love love it!!

  18. Sounds like an amazing mini getaway!
