nari & wyatt – 3.15.08

i was THRILLED when the sweet leigh miller emailed me today with more beautiful photos from nari & wyatt’s wedding last month. i can’t wait to see all of the pics once they are processed; i can’t promise that i won’t blog about this amazing event again!

nari and wyatt are such a special couple to me. their wedding was my very first rainy wedding, and i have to say that God REALLY wanted to test me that day! haha it didn’t sprinkle… it poured and hailed! what a way to be initiated… i think that accomplishing what we did (moving the entire dinner reception indoors during cocktail hour, including ordering all new linens 10 minutes before the nearest rental company closed) made the experience very special to me. in a way, the wedding felt even *more* triumphant because we hadn’t allowed nature to ruin the plans. i feel like i was able to really flex my coordination skills by thinking on my feet and most importantly, keeping a smile on my face.  i just had this inner peace and knew we would still have a magnificent event!  (and we did!)  beyond all of this external “success” of the day, i feel most accomplished in the relationship i built with nari during the months we worked together. we shared that “click” from the start, and i am honored to call her a friend today. i am pretty sure we have a lunch date + trip at anthropologie in our future together. maybe we can get another matching sweater??

nari & wyatt – it was a true blessing working with you two! i had a blast and was delighted to play a role in your day. if your wedding is any indication of the future, i know you can weather anything! (sorry, i couldn’t resist the pun!!) xoxo

now on to those pics!!

wyatt & nari’s first look! i love the composition of this photo.

the beauty! nari has such a classic elegance to her. i *adored* her bouquet, which was monochromatic fuschia with LOTS of texture. various florals included tulips, roses, and ranunculus, along with streaming ribbons with little white hyacinth bells.

i gasped when i saw this photo; the arrangement just enchants me. i adore the footed glass pedestal bowl filled with rosemary sprigs at the base. it overflows with jewel toned florals and verdant greens. to me, the attraction is in the romantic, loose, and natural feel of the centerpiece. perfection.

although we eventually moved inside, this photo captures the mood of the day. the champagne linens + mahogany chiavaris were ideal accents to the façade of the villa. market lights and paper lanterns floated overhead (well, for a while!), with streaming silken ribbons fluttering below.

so many amazing details! i’ll draw your attention to the aforementioned streaming ribbons on nari’s bouquet (far left, center row), the hand-tied bouquets adorning the entrance gates (top row, second from left), and the darling kokeshi cake topper… personalized to look like the bride and groom! (far right, center row)

and just for fun… here’s a pic of my asSIStant anna + i taking down the incredible todd boontje ivy panels we hung behind the cake table. many vendors + clients notice that i have a penchant for “matching” the wedding palette with my outfits. on this fab day, i wore my favorite fuschia blouse by trina turk (in this pic) with a rad grey suit (laundry by shelli segal) that had turquoise pinstripes and lining. i was so proud of myself for integrating the turquoise and fuschia!! geek alert….

thanks again to leigh for the lovely photos and michelle of flora by fauna (florabyfauna@aol.com) for the lush florals.

another splendid wedding will be taking place on saturday so i’m sure i’ll have fun things to share again soon. have a lovely weekend soaking up that sunshine! xoxo
